What is Tenderstem Broccoli? A hybrid of Chinese kale and standard broccoli is referred to by various names in different parts of the world. In the UK, it is most widely known as Tenderstem Broccoli (which is a trademarked name), whilst in the US and other countries, it is called Baby Broccoli or Broccolini.

Broccolini, Aspabroc, baby broccoli or tenderstem broccoli, is a green vegetable similar to broccoli but with smaller florets and longer, thin stalks. It is a hybrid of broccoli and gai lan (which is sometimes referred to as "Chinese kale" or "Chinese broccoli"), both cultivar groups of Brassica oleracea.
